This is the Keynote Address at The Steamboat Institute Energy and Climate Summit given by Patrick Moore on March 12, 2022, at the Steamboat Grand in Colorado.

Doctor Patrick Moore has served as head of the CO2 Coalition and has been a leader in the international environmental field for over forty years. He is a co-founder of Greenpeace, and served for nine years as President of Greenpeace Canada, and seven years as director of Greenpeace International. As the leader of many campaigns, Patrick Moore was the driving force, shaping policy and direction for fifteen years while Greenpeace became the world’s largest environmental activist organisation. He is currently Chairman and Chief Scientist with Eco-sense Environmental. In recent years he has been focused on the promotion of sustainability and consensus-building among competing concerns. He was a member of British Columbia, government-appointed roundtable on the environment and the economy and in 1990 he founded the BC Carbon Project, a group that worked to develop a common understanding of climate change. As chair of the Sustainable Forestry Committee, he led the project of developing the principles of sustainable forestry, which has been adopted by the majority of the industry. He also served as chair and chief scientist of Green Spirit Strategies a consultancy focussing on environmental policy and communications in forestry, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, mining, biodiversity, energy and climate change. He also previously served as co-chair of the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition a US based advocacy organisation to build support for public support for more nuclear energy plants.
